Uncommon vintage blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pink autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In good condition, with a patch of toning in the bottom area, well away from the writing, made by a magazine image affixed to the subsequent page in the same book. Dublin-born character actress Sara Allgood played warmhearted mothers, landladies and neighbors in films like Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail (1929); How Green Was My Valley (1941), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award; That Hamilton Woman (1941); the horror classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941); Roxie Hart (1942); This Above All (1942); and Jane Eyre (1943); The Lodger (1944); Between Two Worlds (1944); The Keys to the Kingdom (1944); The Spiral Staircase (1945); Mother Wore Tights (1947); Mourning Becomes Electra (1947); My Wild Irish Rose (1947); One Touch of Venus (1948); The Accused (1949); and Cheaper by the Dozen (1950).
