Cat. #00052402: JOHN BOLES

Nifty 8x10-inch black and white image on lightweight paper, apparently removed from a magazine or playbill, boldly signed in-person in black fountain pen in the 1930s. In good condition, with negligible surface crinkles and a few stray ink flecks. Handsome John Boles, leading man of the silent and early talkie eras, is remembered as the star of the horror classic Frankenstein (1931). He was also memorable in Paul Leni's thriller The Last Warning (1929) and William Dieterle's sci-fi film 6 Hours to Live (1932).
