Cat. #0009732: CHARLEY CHASE

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly rare vintage inscribed fountain pen signature on a 3x4-inch tan card, acquired in-person in the 1930s, as per a note on the verso by the original collector which reads: "Movie comedian appearing at T'ax Theater, introduced to me by Al Lyons". In good condition. Charley Chase, brilliant comic actor, screenwriter and film director of the silent and early talkie screens, is considered the fourth great, alongside Charles Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. He died tragically of a heart attack at the age of 46 and his autograph is highly elusive in any format.
