Highly rare and quite desirable vintage 5x7-inch matte-finish deckle-edged black and white portrait, signed with his name alone in black fountain pen in the early 1930s. In fine condition. English stage and screen actor Colin Clive is forever remembered for his electrifying portrayals of the titular mad scientist in James Whale’s Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), two classics of the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres. He also starred as Orlac in the Peter Lorre favorite Mad Love (1935). In 1937, Clive died tragically of tuberculosis, exasperated by his longtime alcoholism, aged only 37 years.
