Uncommon original 8x10-inch black and white bust portrait of the prolific character actress, circa 1945, boldly signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint pen, probably in the late 1950s. Unusual in vintage format and in good condition, with a few dings to the hair above her forehead. Making her film debut at age four, Doran appeared in hundreds of supporting film and television roles during the course of a six-decade career. Her numerous forays into the horror and sci-fi genres included The Man They Could Not Hang (1939) with Boris Karloff, Them! (1954), The Man Who Turned to Stone (1957), and It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958).
