Cat. #001663111: DAVID MANNERS

Nifty 8x10-inch black and white bust portrait in his prime, boldly signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint pen, probably in the 1970s. In good condition, with a few very minor surface crinkles, invisible when the photo is viewed head-on. Handsome, well-spoken leading man David Manners portrayed Jonathan Harker in the horror classic Dracula (1931), opposite Bela Lugosi; Franklyn Drew in Death Kiss (1932), also with Lugosi; Frank Whemple in The Mummy, with Boris Karloff; Peter Alison in The Black Cat (1934), alongside both Lugosi and Karloff; and the nephew of a crazed opium addict in Mystery of Edwin Drood (1935), with Claude Rains.
