Highly scarce vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen in 1934. In near fine condition, with tiny bits of paper loss to three corner tips; a small tear in the top border; and scattered creasing and handling bends, chiefly affecting the borders. Weighty, white-haired character actor George Barbier was typically cast as pompous or rascally, but always kind-hearted businessmen or patriarchs in nearly 90 films between the early 1930s and his death in 1945.
