Choice 8x10-inch black and white youthful portrait, boldly signed with his name alone-- his full name, not just "Dick Basehart," as he usually wrote-- in turquoise felt-tip marker in his later years. In good condition, with gentle edgewear. Authoritative Richard Basehart was noteworthy in classic dramas such as Fourteen Hours (1951), La Strada (1954) and Moby Dick (1956), and is especially remembered by sci-fi and fantasy fans for his portrayal of Admiral Harriman Nelson on T.V.'s "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" (1964-1968). He died too young, in 1984, following a number of strokes, and his autograph-- especially where he wrote out his full name-- is elusive in any format.
