Cat. #000612111: PAMELA BRITTON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Extremely scarce vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black felt-tip marker in 1965. In good condition. Pamela Britton, lovely blonde leading lady of the stage and screen, was the daughter of character actress Ethel Owen, who played Ralph's venomous mother-in-law on T.V.'s "The Honeymooners" (1955-1956). She began her career as a big band vocalist in the 1940s, going on to dazzle audiences in such Broadway classics as "Oklahoma," "Brigadoon," "Annie Get Your Gun," and "Guys and Dolls," and to star, opposite Frank Sinatra, in the musical Anchors Aweigh (1945). In the 1950s, she found new word in B-movies and on television, headlining in the Beverly Garland favorite D.O.A. (1950) and playing the title role on the short-lived "Blondie" (1957). Her best-known role was that of nosy landlady Lorelei Brown on the sci-fi-themed sitcom "My Favorite Martian" (1963). Britton died tragically of a brain tumor in 1974, aged only 51 years, and autographed material in virtually any format is highly difficult to come by.
