Cat. #00061411120: GERALDINE BROOKS

Very tough to acquire vintage black fountain pen signature on an irregularly-trimmed tan slip, acquired in-person in the 1950s and affixed to a 4x6-inch light green album page. In good condition. Note that that the image of the star shown here alongside the autograph is not included. In the late 1940s, Geraldine Brooks, an intense, petite brunette, was discovered doing stage work by Warner Brothers and billed as the "new Hepburn." Her film career, however, never lived up to its promise, due to the low quality of the roles she was given. Brooks eventually returned to Broadway, earning a Tony nomination for "Brightower" in 1970, before abandoning acting to pursue a new career as a nature photographer. She died of cancer at the age of 51.
