Before his tragic death of a pulmonary disease at the age of 48, good-looking, tough-talking Steve Cochran played womanizers, gangsters and psychopathic killers in films like The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), Copacabana(1947), White Heat (1949), The Damned Don't Cry (1950), Tomorrow Is Another Day (1951), Jim Thorpe-- All American (1951), and The Tanks Are Coming (1951).
