Cat. #00117311: HAMILTON DEANE

Rare and unusually large 7.25 x 8.75-inch cream autograph album page, boldly signed in black fountain pen in the 1920s, beneath a pencil signature of a stage actor, from which it can easily be separated. Some faint staining from writing that had been on the previous page in the book; otherwise, in fine condition for its age. Playwright and occasional actor Hamilton Deane is remembered for the stage play Dracula, based upon Bram Stocker's novel. It served as the basis of Tod Browning's 1931 horror classic, starring Bela Lugosi, who had also appeared in the stage production.
