Exceptionally scarce 2.5 x 4-inch carte de visite of the celebrated author of The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, with the slightly scratchy inscription in his native French. In fine condition for its age, with two areas of light discoloration at either side of the signature, touching the first and last letters.
