RARE and terrific vintage 5x7-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed in blue fountain pen in the 1930s. In good condition for its age, with negligible soiling to the upper edge, nowhere near the image or writing. Unforgettable character actress Verna Felton had extensive experience on the stage and in radio before breaking into film and television, at nearly 50 years of age. With her no-nonsense attitude and distinctive husky voice, she regularly contributed to Disney animated classics, portraying Mrs. Jumbo in Dumbo (1941), the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella (1950), the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland (1951), Aunt Sarah in Lady and the Tramp (1955), Flora and Leah in Sleeping Beauty (1959), and an elephant in The Jungle Book (1967). She also played Pearl Slaghoople on "The Flintstones" (1962-1963).
