Highly rare vintage indigo fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch pale blue album page, acquired in-person in 1944. In very good condition, with the date of the signing handwritten by the original collector below the writing. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Great Belgian-born character actor Victor Francen began his career in the theater and toured through Europe, Canada and South America, after which he joined the Comedie Française in Paris. When the Nazis marched into France in 1940, he relocated to the United States, finding new work playing scheming spies and psychopathic villains in films like J'accuse! (1938), Hold Back the Dawn (1941), Tales of Manhattan (1942), The Tuttles of Tahiti (1942), Mission to Moscow (1943), Madame Curie (1943), The Desert Song (1943), The Mask of Dimitrios (1944), Confidential Agent (1945), The Beast with Five Fingers (1946), A Farewell to Arms (1957), and Fanny (1961).
