Cat. #0014231212: JAMES GLEASON

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Quite scarce vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a roughly 4x7-inch tan album page, acquired in-person in 1936. Fay Wray signs in black fountain pen on the verso. In fine condition for its age. Silent and early talkie character actor James Gleason played an assortment of hotheaded cops, cranky relatives and neighbors, wisecracking bartenders, and Irish clergymen in classic films like Puttin' on the Ritz (1930), On Your Toes (1939), Meet John Doe (1941), Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941), My Gal Sal (1942), Tales of Manhattan (1942), Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), The Keys of the Kingdom (1944), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945), The Bishop's Wife (1947), The Life of Riley (1949), Suddenly (1954), The Night of the Hunter (1955), and Loving You (1957). He was also a screenwriter of some note.
