Exceedingly rare vintage signature in blue fountain pen given inside a Christmas card sent to a personal friend, dating to the 1930s. There is also a handwritten note on the opposite side to the original recipient . In fine condition for its age, with a minor stain to the upper left-hand corner tip, well away from the writing. Legendary jazz and pop singer Annette Hanshaw was one of the most popular female vocalists of the 1930s, performing producing over 250 sweet and moving recordings of tunes like "Lover Come Back to Me," "I Get the Blues When It Rains," "Mean to Me," "Ho Hum," "Say It Isn't So," and "You Wouldn't Fool Me, Would You?" She stopped performing at the end of 1937 and declared in an interview many decades later that she despised show business, was terrified of performing in public, and loathed the sound of her own voice. This is just the fifth example of her autograph we have encountered in over 35 years.
