Cat. #0015412223: STUART HOLMES

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rare and terrific hand-drawn self-caricature and inscribed fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s by a collector named Ethel. In good condition. Scuptor-turned-prolific character player Stuart Holmes was one of the silent and early talkie screen's great, mustached, beady-eyed villain actors, usually playing confidence tricksters, killers and thieves of French, Italian or Russian extraction. His whopping 586 credits are simply too many to list-- but span everything from The Man Who Laughs (1928) to "The Twilight Zone" (1961).
