Absolutely irreplaceable, eminently display-worthy handwritten, signed copy of the full text of the legendary Black poet's classic single-couplet piece "Little Lyric"-- the name of which he reinvents for the recipient as "A Little Lyric of Great Importance"-- in green felt-tip marker on a 7.75 x 10.5-inch tan sheet. In full: "I wish the rent / was heaven-sent." He adds at the bottom, for the inveterate collector for whom he created the piece, "Copied especially for Norman Scovrnick on February 7, 1963." In good condition, with tape remnants to all four edges from a previous mounting and two light mailing folds.
