During his long and prolific career, marvelous British character actor Freddie Jones has excelled at portraying delightfully eccentric and utterly repugnant personages, as in films like Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969), The Elephant Man (1980), Krull (1983), Firestarter (1984), and Dune (1984). He was also unforgettable as Inspector Baynes, the detective who proved a worthy adversary to Jeremy Brett in the classic 1988 "Wisteria Lodge" episode of the Grenada Sherlock Holmes series.
