Mustached, steely-eyed character actor Eddie Kane appeared in over 250 motion pictures between the silent era and Hollywood's Golden Age, including The Public Enemy (1931), It Happened One Night (1934), Mr. Deed Goes to Town (1936), You Can't Tale It with You (1938), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), Meet John Doe (1941), Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), It's a Wonderful Life (1946), and The Ten Commandments (1956), as well as several Laurel and Hardy films. Among horror, sci-fi and fantasy buffs, he is remembered for his work in The Mummy (1932), Topper (1937), The Devil Commands (1941), Bowery at Midnight (1942), The Corpse Vanishes (1942), Batman (1943), and Devil Bat’s Daughter (1946). He also played Mr. Monahan on a few episodes of T.V.'s "The Honeymooners" (1956).
