Scarce 10x8-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in purple fountain pen in the 1930s. In good condition, with gentle edge wear. Great silver screen tough guy Paul Kelly was infamously sent up the river for pummeling a man to death over an actress named Dorothy Mackaye. His off-screen misfortunates didn't end there: Mackaye would ultimately perish in a car crack; Kelly died of a heart attack, aged just 57 years.
