Ultra-rare vintage 8x10-inch black and white press photo of the countercultural novelist and essayist best remembered for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1962) and Sometimes a Great Nation (1964), boldly signed with an arrow pointing to himself in blue fine-tip pen, acquired in-person in New York City in the 1970s.  In good condition, with the candid image a touch grainy.  Ken Kesey rarely gave autographs, and almost always in copies of his books.  We find no record of a signed portrait of the author having been sold at auction in the past two decades.
