Uncommon vintage bold black fountain pen signature on a 2.4 x 5-inch portion of a tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in February of 1944. In good condition, with very slightly uneven trimming and a gentle fold down the center. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Actor and theater historian Dr. Arnold Moss began his career as a Shakespearean stage performer, bringing aristocratic bearing, perfect diction and a resounding bass voice to character roles in films. Often compared to George Macready, he was a master of urbane villainy, playing despicable Arab chieftains, Mexican bandits and Indian maharajahs in Temptation (1946), The Loves of Carmen (1948), The Reign of Terror (1949), Border Incident (1949), Mask of the Avenger (1951), Viva Zapata! (1952), Salome (1953), The Fool Killer (1965), and Gambit (1966). Perhaps his most famous role-- probably to his chagin!-- was that of the snarky head alien in the campy sci-fi classic The 27th Day (1957). He was also terrific as Anton Karidian, wicked, mysterious alter-ego of the tyrannical Governor Kodos of Tarsus IV, on T.V.'s "Star Trek" (1966).
