Cat. #0019122: MARY NASH

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly scarce vintage inscribed blue felt-tip pen signature on a 4x6-inch pink card, acquired in-person by inveterate collector John Virzi in 1971 and decorated with a small magazine image. In good condition. Mary Nash, veteran leading lady of the stage, appearing in three silent pictures. At the age of 50, she officially abandoned the theater for Hollywood, where she found new work as a character actress. Best remembered for her deliciously nasty treatment of Shirley Temple in Heidi (1937) and The Little Princess (1939), and as Katharine Hepburn's proper society mother in The Philadelphia Story (1940), she also played the ill-fated queen in the technicolor adventure Cobra Woman in 1944.
