Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage inscribed signature in blue ballpoint pen on a 4x5-inch pale pink autograph album page, acquired in-person during the run of the play "Any Wednesday" in 1964.  In very good condition.  Best remembered for playing the titular singing sensation in The Jolson Story (1946) and Jolson Sings Again (1949), he also starred in the classic films Mystery Ship (1941), the horror flick The Boogie Man Will Get You (1942), the sci-fi film Her Husband's Affairs (1947), and Down to Earth (1947).  His career suffered irreversible damage after he confessed prior membership in the Communist Party, leading to his virtual banishment from Hollywood.  Thereafter, his work was limited to sporadic T.V. guest roles and a part in the 1962 biopic Freud.  He died of a heart attack at the age of 60 and his autograph is highly elusive in any format.
