Cat. #00199133311: MILTON PARSONS

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Ultra-scarce vintage 7.75 x 9.75-inch black and white portrait, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint pen against the dark fabric of his jacket. In good condition, with some gentle crinkling in spots, and the autograph clearer in-person than might be suggested by the scan shown here, especially when angled toward a light source. With his sepulchral speaking voice and skeletal appearance, character actor Milton Parsons excelled at playing creepy undertakers, psychotics, mad-eyed preachers, henchmen, kooky scientists, and other eccentrics. He was almost exclusively associated with the horror, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and crime film genres, a veritable scene-swiper in Another Thin Man (1939), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941), Hold That Ghost (1941), Dressed to Kill (1941), The Hidden Hand (1942), Whispering Ghosts (1942), Cry of the Werewolf (1944), Dick Tracy (1945), The Verdict (1946), Dick Tracy vs. Cueball (1946), Charlie Chan in Dark Alibi (1946), Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (1947), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947), The Cobra Strikes (1948), White Heat (1949), The Monster That Challenged the World (1957), The Haunted Palace (1957), The Cat Creature (1973), and The Dead Don't Die (1975). He also appeared on multiple episodes of "The Twilight Zone" (1961-1963).
