Cat. #00201101: EZIO PINZA

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rare signature in bold pencil on an irregularly-trimmed 3.25 x 5.25-inch slip of cream-colored paper, affixed by the original collector to a 4x6-inch pale greem album page.  A minor tear to the upper left-hand edge; a faint patch of soiling to the upper right-hand corner; one or two tiny dings; and a couple of glue flecks, but, overall, in fairly good condition for its age.  Mesmerizing Italian operatic basso Ezio Pinza performed over 750 times at New York's Metropolitan Opera House before retiring in 1948.  He went on to a second career as a Broadway and film actor, snagging a Tony for "South Pacific" in 1950.  He died at age 64 and his autograph is rather elusive in any format.
