One-of-a-kind vintage blue fountain pen signature and adorable original self-caricature on a 4.5 x 6-inch light green autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s and decorated with a foil star. Charming comic actress ZaSu Pitts was invariably cast in dim-witted, hand-wringing, fidgety persons in hundreds of silent and early talkie films, with the latter acquainting audiences to her distinct woebegone vocal antics. She began her career as a dramatic lead, memorable in Mary Pickford's The Little Princess (1917), King Vidor's Better Times (1919), and Erich von Stroheim's Greed (1924) and The Wedding March (1928). From the late 1920s onward, she was increasingly cast in comedies, deliciously paired with stunning blonde Thelma Todd and the gangly "Slum" Summerville. Later in life, the star found new work with little old lady character parts, as in Francis, The Talking Mule (1950) and It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963).
