VERY tough to acquire vintage 8x10-inch black and white Paramount publicity portrait, dated 1938, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen in the late 1930s. In fine condition for its age, with minor surface creases and handling dings, and a bend to the upper right-hand corner tip. Despite looks and charm, leading actress Louise Platt enjoyed an all-too-brief film career, best known for her role as the officer's pregnant wife in John Ford's Stagecoach (1939). After making about six films, she abandoned the silver screen for stage work in 1942.
