Bold vintage black felt-tip pen signature on a 3x5-inch white card, given to fellow actor and autograph collector Peter Hansen in the 1970s. In good condition and ideal for matting with a favorite photograph. Esteemed leading man Sidney Poitier became the first African-American to earn a Best Actor Academy Award, for The Lilies of the Field (1963) in 1964. He was also noteworthy in Cry, the Beloved Country (1951), Blackboard Jungle (1955), The Defiant Ones (1958), Porgy and Bess (1959), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), A Patch of Blue (1965), To Sir, with Love (1967), In the Heat of the Night (1967), and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967).
