Colorful 8x10-inch color portrait, shown in the era of World War II, surrounded by the flags of nations in conflict with the Axis of Evil, boldly signed in black fine-tip pen in the 1980s. In good condition. Scrumptious brunette Ella Raines was struggling to establish herself on the Broadway stage when she was discovered by Howard Hawks, who hand-selected her to play Randolph Scott's lady friend in the war film Corvette K-225 (1943). She went on to star in the John Wayne western Tall in the Saddle (1944), the noir flick Phantom Lady (1944), Hail the Conquering Hero (1944), The Web (1947) with Vincent Price, Brute Force (1947), and Impact (1949), before retiring in 1957 to raise a family.
