Cat. #00311225: LENI RIEFENSTAHL

Uncommonly early 3.25 x 5.5-inch sepia-tone "Ross" Verlag postcard portrait, boldly signed in blue fountain pen in the early 1930s, making this the earliest example of her autograph we have ever encountered. Best known for The Triumph of the Will (1935) and Olympia (1938), the career of much-admired German film director, producer, screenwriter, editor, photographer, actress, and dancer Leni Riefenstahl was decimated by her creation of propaganda films, including the two mentioned here, for the Third Reich.
