Cat. #003112512: LEONA ROBERTS

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Exceptionally rare vintage fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person in the1930s. In very good condition and ideal for matting with a favorite photograph. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Almost middle aged by the time she made her screen and film debuts in 1926, unforgettable character actress Leona Roberts remained active until her final years, playing elderly town folk; cranky wives, aunts and grandmothers; and haughty society types in classic films like Of Human Hearts (1938), Bringing Up Baby (1938), Condemned Women (1938), Having a Wonderful Time (1938), The Affairs of Annabel (1938), The Blue Bird (1940), Abe Lincoln in Illinois (1940), Gangs of Chicago (1940), and The Loves of Carmen (1948). She is probably best remembered for her portrayal of Dr. Meade's wife in Gone with the Wind (1939) and her signature is highly sought by collectors on autographs related to that timeless film.
