Scarce vintage 5x7-inch matte-finish sepia-tone Witzel Studios portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, circa 1918. In fine condition, with gentle silvering and some odd coloration or possible emulsification to the area of his shirt. Dubbed "The Grand Duke of Hollywood", veteran character actor Theodore Roberts is perhaps best remembered as Moses in the 1923 version of The Ten Commandments, one of his 23 roles under director Cecil B. De Mille.
