Cat. #003222322: DAN SEYMOUR

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Quite scarce vintage blue ballpoint pen signature on a 3x5-inch tan hole-punched card, acquired in-person by an unstoppable New York City-based autograph hound in the early 1950s. In good condition. Please note that he image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the signed card is not included. Described bluntly as "yeccch" in a 1968 book on movie bad guys, porcine, sinister-looking Dan Seymour was the quintessential heavy or slimy villain in films like Casablanca (1942); Road to Morocco (1942); To Have and Have Not (1944); Kismet (1944); the Marx Brothers' A Night in Casablanca (1946); Cloak and Dagger (1946); Key Largo (1948); Johnny Belinda (1948); Reign of Terror (1949); Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion (1950); and the horror flicks Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1950) and Return of the Fly (1959). After a hiatus from films, during which he concentrated on T.V. work, which included the role of Maharajah on "Batman" (1966), he had a bit of a comeback role in The Way We Were in 1973.
