Cat. #00411162: ELIZABETH TAYLOR

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rare and superb vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait, dating to the time of her two marriages to Richard Burton in the early 1970s, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen for a noted in-person collector of the period. In good condition for its age, with a few minor handling dings. After being nominated for three Academy Awards, for Raintree Country (1957), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) and Suddenly, Last Summer (1959), beautiful, iconic Elizabeth Taylor snagged two Oscars for BUtterfield 8 (1960) and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966). Elsewhere, she blossomed from an adorable tot into an electrifying leading lady in Hollywood classics like Lassie Comes Home (1942), Jane Eyre (1943), National Velvet (1944), Life with Father (1947), Little Women (1949), Father of the Bride (1950), Father's Little Dividend (1951), A Place in the Sun (1951), Ivanhoe (1952), Giant (1956), Cleopatra (1963), The Sandpiper (1965), and The Taming of the Shrew (1967).
