Highly scarce vintage 7.5 x 9.5-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in white fountain pen in the 1940s. In good condition, with the borders trimmed away for framing purposes. Perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of the Stephens' long-suffering neighbor Abner Kravitz on T.V.'s "Bewitched" (1964-1971), versatile character actor George Tobias' career had already spanned nearly four decades by the time the sitcom premiered. He excelled at playing none-too-bright sidekicks, villains and ethnic types, most notably in Ninotchka (1939), They Drive By Night (1940), Sergeant York (1941), The Bride Came C.O.D. (1941), Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), Mildred Pierce (1945), My Wild Irish Rose (1947), The Set-Up (1940) The Glenn Miller Story (1954), The Seven Little Foys (1955), and Silk Stockings (1957). This is just the fifth example of his autograph we have ever encountered.
