Cat. #00524212211: CLAIRE TREVOR

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Nifty original 8x10-inch sepia-tone publicity portrait for 1935's The Black Sheep, originally entitled Beauty's Daughters, boldly signed in black marker in the 1980s.  In good condition for its age, with some surface crinkling from the studio snipe pasted to the verso and light border wear.  Dubbed the Queen of Film Noir for her numerous "bad girl" roles in black and white crime thrillers, leading lady Claire Trevor snagged an Oscar for her portrayal of the alcoholic gangster moll in Key Largo (1948), and was also nominated for Dead End (1937) and The High and the Mighty (1954).  Highlights from her long list of classic film credits include the horror-themed Dante's Inferno (1935), The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse (1938), Stagecoach (1939), Murder, My Sweet (1944), Johnny Angel (1945), and The Babe Ruth Story (1948).
