Incredibly rare 8x10-inch black and white bust portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in felt-tip black marker: "To Albert H. Peters-- / with sincere / best wishes-- / Melbourne 1973." In good condition, with negligible border wear and handling dings. This is third autograph and first signed photo we've ever encountered of the movie make-up master who was the protege of Jack Dawn and and collaborated on The Wizard of Oz (1939). Among his literally hundreds of classic film and television credits, he made many noteworthy contributions to the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres, including Tod Browning's Mark of the Vampire (1935); Forbidden Planet (1956); The Time Machine (1960); some of the most visually diquieting episodes of T.V.'s "The Twilight Zone," including "The Dummy," "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" and "The Masks;" 7 Faces of Dr. Lao (1964); Young Frankenstein (1974); Superman (1975); and Logan's Run (1976).
