Classic Entertainment Autographs

Cat. #00525242: FREDERICK VALK

Highly rare vintage fountain pen signature on a 3x5-inch pale green album page, acquired in-person in the 1930s. In very good condition. Note that the image of the star shown alongside the scan of the autograph here is not included with the signed piece. Who could forget the pudgy Czech character actor as the skeptical psychiatrist in the horror masterpiece Dead of Night (1945), who evaluates psychotic ventriloquist Michael Redgrave and is ultimately strangled to death by equally troubled Mervyn Johns? Imposing and precise, he was the ideal no-nonsense authority figure or Nazi commander in A and B pictures like Traitor Spy (1939), The Torso Murder Mystery (1939), Night Train to Munich (1940), Dangerous Moonlight (1941), Gasbags (1941), The Patient Vanishes (1941), The Young Mr. Pitt (1942), Thunder Rock (1942), A Matter of Life and Death (1946), Mrs. Fitzherbert (1947), Saraband (1951), The Magic Box (1951), Bad Blonde (1953), and The Colditz Story (1955).
