Scarce vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch off-white card, acquired in-person by inveterate autograph hound John Virzi in the 1960s and decorated with a small image of the star. In good condition. Dashing silent leading man Theodore von Eltz found new work in character roles in the sound era, playing dastardly villains and vexatious authority figures in films like The Arizona Kid (1930), Red Haired Alibi (1932), Bright Eyes (1934), The Sun Never Sets (1939), and The Big Sleep (1946). Extremely versatile, he also played scores of benevolent doctors, lawyers and servants in nearly 200 other films. He is remembered by horror fans for his role as Harry Blythe in Rupert Julian's The Cat Creeps (1930).
