Scarce vintage signature in bold pencil on a 4x6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person and dated 1941. In very good condition, with a handwritten notation in pencil along the bottom edge. The comedy farceur is indelibly associated with the popular Aldwych Theatre stage comedies of the 1920s and 1930s, which so wittily denigrated society's upper-crust. With Walls in the director's seat, a number of the troupe's best successes were adapted for the silver screen, including the madcap classics One Embarrassing Night (1930), Plunder (1931), A Night Like This (1932), Thark (1932)-- also considered a horror film, A Cuckoo in the Nest (1933), Dirty Work (1934), and A Cup of Kindness (1934).
