Cat. #00579411: ROBERT WILCOX

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rare vintage green pencil signature on a 2.75 x 6-inch portion of a light green autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1950s. In good condition and ideal for matting. Hard-drinking, misanthropic B-movie star Robert Wilcox was routinely in the papers during a stormy five-year marriage to Diana Barrymore, throughout which he philandered, fought with her in public places, and was repeatedly arrested. Before his tragic death of a heart attack at age 45, he was noteworthy in flicks like Armored Car (1937), Reckless Living (1938), Young Fugitives (1938), Little Tough Guy (1938), The Man They Could Not Hang (1939), Buried Alive (1939), The Lone Wolf Strikes (1940), Island of Doomed Men (1940), Mysterious Doctor Satan (1940), and The Unknown (1946).
