Best known as the titular villain in the James Bond classic Dr. No (1962), intense, incisive Canadian character actor Joseph Wiseman was memorable as a mixed bag of psychopaths and authority figures of various ethnicities, in films like Detective Story (1951), Viva Zapata! (1952), Les Miserables (1952), The Garment Jungle (1957), The Counterfeit Killer (1968), The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968), and Journey Into Fear (1975). He was also noteworthy in the "Twilight Zone" episode entitled "One More Pallbearer" (1962).
