He made several other number of memorable contributions to the horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and mystery genres, including The Raven (1935) with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff; Mad Love (1935); The Return of Doctor X (1939); The Invisible Man's Revenge (1944); the Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes film The Scarlet Claw (1944); Zombies on Broadway (1945); Strange Confession (1945); Bedlam (1946), also with Karloff; The Lost World (1960); Diary of a Madman (1963); THX 1138 (1971); The Devil's Daughter (1973); Homebodies (1974); The Terminal Man (1974); The Creator (1985); and the episode of T.V.'s "The Twilight Zone" entitled "Uncle Simon". He was also a regular on "Star Trek."
