Cat. #0058804: LANA WOOD

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

8x10-inch black and white film still from Diamonds Are Forever (1971), boldly signed in silver marker in-person at a film convention appearance some years ago. In good condition, with a third-party authenticator's sticker affixed to the lower right-hand corner. After appearing alongside her older sister, Natalie Wood, in John Ford's The Searchers in 1956, Lana Wood was busy in television through the early 1960s, blossoming into a gorgeous, raven-haired temptress whose "bad girl" persona differentiated her from her celebrated sibling. In films like For Singles Only (1968) and Scream Free! (1969), she excelled at playing tarnished women whose anti-authoritarian airs smacked of troubled upbringings. In 1971, she posed for Playboy, inspiring producer Cubby Broccoli to cast her as femme fatale Plenty O'Toole in the James Bond classic Diamonds Are Forever.  Despite Wood's knockout performance in the film, she thereafter appeared only sporadically in films, popping up in the John Carradine horror flick Satan's Mistress in 1982.
