Cat. #00588052: NATALIE WOOD

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly rare and quite desirable vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a roughly 4x6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the late 1950s. In good condition. Beloved Hollywood icon Natalie Wood made her film debut at age four, as an extra in Happy Land (1943). Within just a few years, she was earning over a thousand dollars per week for films like Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947). The child star blossomed into a talented beauty, and was memorable as girlfriend to James Dean and Warren Beatty, respectively, in Rebel Without a Cause (1955), as well as in Splendor in the Grass (1961); the classic musicals West Side Story (1961) and Gypsy (1963); Love with the Proper Stranger (1963); Inside Daisy Cover (1967); and Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice (1969).  She snagged three Oscar nods, but never took home the trophy.  In the midst of filming the 1981 sci-fi flick Brainstorm, she was tragically drowned in a still-suspicious yachting accident just off Catalina Island. She was just 43 years old. Her autograph is rather elusive in any format.
