Ultra-, ultra-, ultra-rare and decidedly nifty typed document which once accompanied a failed script for a proposed film entitled Hang 'em High, boldly signed at the bottom, with his full name, in red ballpoint pen in 1956. In good condition, with one tiny area of soiling. One of the most fiendishly elusive horror, sci-fi and fantasy autographs in authentic format! Note that a letter signed only "Ed" sold for over $2,800.00 at auction several years ago. Z-grade film director, screenwriter and cross-dresser Edward D. Wood, Jr. drew together a small clique of outcasts, including Vampira, Tor Johnson, Criswell, Paul Marco, Conrad Brooks, Tom Keene, Bela Lugosi, Bunny Breckinridge, and others, and created some of the most wonderfully weird, inadvertently hilarious movies of all-time, including Glen or Glenda (1953), Jail Bait (1954), The Bride and the Beast (1958), Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959), Night of the Ghouls (1959), and Orgy of the Dead (1965). He died of heart failure, a penniless, forgotten alcoholic, at the age of 54.
