Uncommonly early 3.25 x 5.5-inch sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the early 1930s. In good condition, with a few stray ink marks along the left edge. Veteran stage, film and television actress Peggy Wood played the title role on T.V.'s "Mama" (1949–1957), for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award; Naomi, Ruth's mother-in-law, in The Story of Ruth (1960); and the Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music (1965), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award.
